IS TOWN BETTER THAN CITY TO LIVE ???

I've read the post from our classmate "FIRE" and after that I've felt opposing feelings because, although I live in Corbera, a small village near Barcelona, and I really like living there, there are some advantages or disadvantages that we know and "FIRE" has written in his post.

-I agree with you to a certain extent.

I've very often heard people coming to live in the town that they prefer to live there because there is much more "QUALITY OF LIFE" than in the city.

Well, I'm sure that they aren't aware how is their life day by day.

Let me show you, for instance, how is the life from a "common and happy family " in my town:
Most of them have children and they live in a nice detached or semidetached house, of course.

They MUST get up very early because there is always a terrible traffic jam, and they MUST also take the children to school, because children go to a private school, in the city, of course.

Normally, when the mother finishes her job, she MUST goes quickly to pick the children up and back together at home, whithout forgetting the traffic jam again. of course.

So they spend 2 or 3 hours on the journey by car every day ( back and forth).

After that the mother spends every evening driving around the village, because the children MUST go to several out-of-school activities, such us, piano lessons, tae kwon do, swimming, ballet, etc., etc., while the mother goes to the supermarket, of course. So that transforms the "mum" into a "taxiwoman" every evening.

Finally when the family arrives at home it is late at nigth, of course.

But that's not all, oh no!! the best of all are the weekends. They MUST spend each Saturday and Sunday cleaning and cleaning the awesome and big garden and the swimming pool. of course.

Oh sorry!! we MUSN'T forget the holidays, they always said that they can go nowhere because they MUST take care of the garden, the swimming pool, etc, and also the dog, ( don't forget the dog).
But the truth of the matter is that the damn mortgage for the fantastic house and the enormous four-wheel-drive vehicle don't allow it . Of course.

So the question is. WHEN DO THEY ENJOY THEIR FANTASTIC HOME IN TOWN?????

Don't worry, I've got the answer, yes, it is when they invite their friends at home, and they offer the "paella" or barbecue meat, in the garden with the swimming pool, of course.

Their friends always say the famous sentence: "YOU ARE LUCKY, THIS IS QUALITY OF LIFE" Are you sure ??????...........

But don't worry there is someone that really enjoys the garden and the swimming pool while the family is working, oh yes, it is THE DOG, of course.

In spite of everything, believe it or not, I prefer to live in a town, but I MUST say that this post is not autobiographical. of course.
I live in a nice flat and my job is not in the city. I haven't got any children, so when I want to go out I have no problems, and I usually go abroad for holidays.

I like living my life to the full.

In conclusion, the question is not where to live, but how to live your life. Isn't it????

That's all

Hi, India. Cruel reality the situation described. I must say I absolutely agree with you. I know some work partners who live in villages around Tarragona (Torredembarra, Salou, etc…) and they have to come to work everyday to Barcelona. They usually say they have a better quality of life than mine and I usually answer them “What´s quality of life for you?, The two or three hours you stay in the train everyday?” I think that people must rethink about the real meaning of the sentence “Quality of life”. If you live in a big house, in a small town or village (as you say, with dog, swimming pool, etc…), you can pay someone to do the housework, and you work near home (or better, you don´t need to work because you have enough money), then, that´s Quality of life.

Yes, the question is how to live your life. We should enjoy what we have, and don't be always complaining about the disadvantages of what we have, o about what we don't have. But I think few people are happy about what they have. We always want more, and more, and more...

Hi everybody! С новым годом и Рождеством!
That means Happy New Year and Happy Christmas, yes, Christmas after New Year. In Russia, because of orthodox religion, Christmas day is on January 6th. Hey, that's another clue about my identity!!!. Il Kommentatore knows something about Russian (or knows someone who knows something about Russian).
I’ve been really busy during these last days and I've been disconnected from the blog activity so I haven't had the opportunity to wish you the best for the New Year. That's all by now.
Желаю вам счастья (I wish you happiness).

Hey you! What’s happening with the blogs? I though this experience was about writing, because we need to improve our writing style, because we will have to demonstrate our writing level at the 5th level final exam. What do I have to do to encourage you??? Il-Kommentatore need posts to make comments. What are you waiting for? C’Mon.

I'd rather live in a town, but near a city. If you can work in the town and not in the city you avoid traffic jams and have the facilities of the city close enough.

Happy New Year, by the way!
